Cream Legbars

This is the pullet in question. Her first set of breast feathers were tipped with black. This third set are still dark on the ends but not quite as bad as the first. I'd love to save her genetics for diversity down the road, but there may just be too many faults to play with.
such nice type

Color wise(including melanin) he is right up there with the standard, alot of times I see males with correct color but lacking the melanization need it to turn the saddle as the SOP calls for it, instead they are cream barred only like your average crele pattern.

If I understand you correctly, part of the correct melanization appears as grey barring in the hackles and saddle feathers, in addition to any cream barring in those locations...?
Yes.. the issue with that its these extra melanizers will also show on Females breast and crests.. thats why I have been saying for years that the SOP as its worded calls for "Male" Breeding lines(melanized females not been shown but used to produced Melanized males) and "Female" breeding lines(undermelanized males used to produce females, these males would be your crele Patern birds)

let me see if I can ilustrate this with pics..

I strongly disagree.

I have clear salmon females with a melanized cockerel father.... no need to have a 'pullet breeding line' and a 'cockerel breeding line' as many English breeds require. People can always do it, of course - however, you make it sound like a requirement -- but I think you have -- (if you have been saying it for years), not been 100% correct. Your statement can be very misleading to people who haven't got any experience with this breed.

I think I have a very melanized flock - and I am going to work to lessen that characteristic. -- Only this year did I get any dark flecks on the breast feathers of some never before -- And my most recent female - completely clear.

Please nicalandia - be careful with the advice that you dispense...people look to you as an expert - but I have to say this piece of advice is not the direction that most owners wish to take the breed.
