Cream Legbars

Hatched late April.

My trio I purchased in early July . Something to work with . They have laid but taking a break due to short days .

Both Females show Hackle melanization wich could extend to the breast(cant see their breasts) the hen on the right is homozygous for the cream gene, the one on the left seems to be related to her but with only one copy of the cream gene, the male is on the rich side of cream and could be carrying only one copy of cream

This is really helpful to me. I am still sorting all of this out and I have the winter to get a plan going. I tend to focus on color too much, I think. I am trying to focus on "the building" and color keeps distracting me

.

I know that for me personally I can't go the tons of chickens route for multiple reasons. My goal is to start small this spring and see where it takes me.
You are going to come up with a strategy that is brilliant, and I think that starting small is a good way to be successful. All the old-timers say build the barn before you paint it -- but - as you have selections to make - you may focus on a primary improvement and keep other things also in mind.

So I hope I am at the right thread... I was on the CLB SOP thread & they are very helpful & said I should check this thread out as well....:)
I have 4 CLB hens & one cock....here's a pic ....

Any constructive criticism welcomed...:)

I am currently in the process of making arrangement to rehome a trio of Cream Legbars. They are roughly 6-7 months old and from what I can tell they are correct for cream. Im having a hard time deciding on what they should be priced at, I want to be fair but don't want to undersell as I have put time and effort into them. I was thinking $100. Does that seem too steep, or is it fair?

I haven't sold any birds yet but I have purchased some, and I think that is a fair price if they are good examples of the breed.

I think that price is more than fair. I paid $40 for just 1 of my hens! Good luck.
