Hubby & granddaughter were on a roll....... I added in Uncle Kracker once I saw the writing on the walls..... Perhaps we can do some egg swapping down the road. My girls are just getting ready to lay.

I took my brahma boys away from the brahma girls and introduced a houdan cockeral. How long should you wait after taking one roo out & introducing a new one to collect eggs for hatching?
I do this every year with no problems . How old are they now ? Any pictures ?I took my brahma boys away from the brahma girls and introduced a houdan cockeral.
I collected eggs from day 14 to day 23 to incubate. They all hatched out straight brahmas with no houdan blood at all.
I would say about another 6-7 days and you should be good to start collecting. Though 30 days might be best.I just want to be sure that I only get purebreds. The crossbred roo that was living with her has been out for 2 weeks. She was in a molt & not laying. She began laying about a week after he was taken out. The new roo was introduced to her yesterday. We want to start incubating eggs from the new roo as soon as it is "safe".
