Cream Legbars

Just got another JR egg. This must have been laid by the first layer so it is her #4 egg.
Not as blue as the second layer but a very respectable size.

Actually looking at the picture the egg looks greenish It is actually MUCH MUCH bluer than it looks in the iphone pic, but still not as blue as my regular girls who lay super blue eggs.

Pic taken with a quarter for comparison.
So happy !!!!

Just thinking- The other possibility is that it is a first egg -possible double yolker from one of the other girls.

thanks for the info/pics, good luck with your hatch!

It will be going to the Philippines with Ozexpat to be hatched there.
I am collecting legbar eggs for him to take, and since the raccoons wiped out half of the regular hens I will give him any JR Legbar eggs that are laid before he leaves as well.

They were a little sleepy for these pics but here are my 3 chicks (put the other girl down today her legs were just too far gone)
4 weeks old
This boy starting to get a crest smaller comb but slight fold starting in it.

The girl is quite pretty and turning out nicely I think her crest is starting to show

The boy with the wonky tail. Sometimes straight sometimes off to the side. but I also think its not come in even either. He has the larger comb but so far its straight and he is developing a crest too.

The chick looks to have a rose comb, smooth on the bottom with a slight bump on the top. May I ask who your source was? There is a fellow BYC member who is working on a rose combed Cream Legbar, maybe it is possible you got some of those? If not it is likely you have a mixed breed chick...
Here is a closer picture of that pullett's comb. I can feel a very slight rough ridge at the top but I don't see any serrations yet. It's almost as if She doesn't have a comb. Could that mean it's a rose comb? What would that mean as far as the SOP?

So I asked Greenfire and they solved the mystery of this chick. It is a Chocolate Partridge Wyandotte. Kind of cool packing peanut!! The last packing peanuts they sent were Isbars.

I have to imagine that anything coming from Greenfire is interesting!! They could sell grab bags, and you'd be guaranteed to get some awesome birds for your flock.

I am sorry to hear about your other girl. The remaining chicks are looking nice and healthy.

They are looking good so far! Sorry to hear about your other girl but you did the right thing.

I hatched these yesterday from eggs bought here on 1 of the auction threads. I got 4 boys and 2 girls out of he 10 eggs so far.

Here are the boys

They all have similar coloring except this one. Is this a normal col for a CCL?
