Cream Legbars

I ordered my chicks from Greenfire. They had a BOGO free sale on pullets and a BOG2 free sale on boys. I ordered 3 pullets and 1 Roo so they should have shipped 6 pullets and 3 Roos. They sent 8 pullets and 4 Roos. 2 birds died within the first 48 hours. They offered to refund the cost of the chicks IF I lost more and I went under what I ordered. As it is I have 6 pullets and 4 Roos going on their second week. There is a very light chick I am still not sure about but these are mine today (they will be 2 weeks on Sunday) They were shipped from Florida to Indiana. Shipped out Monday the 28th and arrived Thursday October 1.

I took advantage of the BOGO also! I received 14 pullets and 4 cockerels. I lost one roo in the first 10 hours. All the rest are active and seem to be thriving. Yours are so cute. I can't wait to see them feather out. I picked mine up, GFF is under an hour away.

Mine would have shipped on Oct 5. So they are a week younger than yours. This will be fun, I can see my chicks next steps looking at pictures of yours!

Perhaps this is the universe's way of repaying me for all the heart ache but I just won an auction on Rare Breed Auctions for 12 random Greenfire Farm chicks..
The best part is that I won for ONLY $160 plus $35 shipping! I am soooo happy!!! I asked them to please include some Cream Legbars, if they could!

They are so adorable!!! Each one is just simply gorgeous! Please update on how they grow, as I'd love to see!

My cream legbar chicks are way calmer then others I've had at this age. However I think it is because 3 silkie hens have raised them this far. I can't wait till I can get some really good photos to post

Me too! Ever since I got these CCL chicks I have thought these are the quietest calmest chicks I have ever had. They are active, doing all the right chicken activities but very calm. I don't have the silkie influence.... wish I did..... I can always use a hand around here.

Just wanted to share that we went to the Utah Fancy Poultry Association show yesterday and there were only 2 Cream Legbars - a hen and a roo. (ChicKat only 2 isbars, too) I took some pics. :)

There's a lot of "buttery" coloring on the neck areas of these, with some brown/chestnut around the heads (forgive my ignorance not using correct color descriptions or anatomic feather locations). Two of my pullets (Lissa and Jenny) have a lot of this coloring at about 21 weeks - they've always had that buttery background not he necks, and as they continue to grow, there is a bit more brown/chestnut starting to appear in the grey crests and on the face. Could someone remind me of how this is viewed in the SOP? (Not that I don't think my girls are gorgeous anyway, just curious, seeing these at a show.)

I only have one CL so I'm interested in seeing the others' critiques of these birds, too. My little girl is much more cream in the neck than these two. We are thinking of getting involved with this chicken group so Im trying to see how my pullet compares.

Not a great pic, but you can see my little girl out front here. Oh how I love her! She is the friendliest, most curious little thing.
