Goldie, they look like nice pullets. I have two that have that same body look and when I see it it reminds me of Punnett's original 'look' for legbars -- way back in the day...
They look really nice to me. Your roo has very little of the red/gold "leakage" that his sire had, he almost looks like a Reese line roo.
Thanks for sharing your pics. It seems like I heard that slow feathering produces better barring. Can anyone add to that either way?I'm very impressed with himhe's not done growing in his hackle and saddle feathers yet but he's a gorgeous guy. He's rather slow to feather in but he's maturing beautifully. I'm also VERY impressed with Luna. The pair of them are what I'm most excited for. I think they're going to produce some incredible babies![]()

I've had that happen too, usually when cockerels were competing with each other. The behavior did not persist, but I had the same reaction as you.So the lil rumpless boy we have that we were going to use for breeding, will no longer be used for breeding. At just 3 months old, he decided to scalp another 3 month old pullet
