Cream Legbars

Is it Luna? Isn't she pretty!

Thank you she is one of my favorites. This is actually her sister Celestia. When I needed names for 2 female chicks, one light & one dark my ex my little pony fans picked Celestia & Luna. They are complete opposites, even as chickens. Luna still only has about 4 feathers in her crest & is gold. Celestia has this crazy crest and is cream. But they get along quite well. I personally think Celestia's mom was hanging out with a Polish rooster on the side

. When we were done with her pictures, she jumped on the stool and gave us an earful, lol.

Well some one likes MLP!!!!! Hahahahahaha!!!!! Great names! I love it!

The UK Standard requires white or creamy earlobes with white being preferred.

Oops! Earlobe moron! Sorry, it was actually on the CL thread a while ago, when I first posted pics of a cockerel I was thinking of getting, and someone said that he had white earlobes, which was the US standard and that bluey/greeney were accepted in the UK. You must think me a total moron!

I have my first cream legbars.  They seem to be extremely "gentle" on the vegetation.  The seven pullets are in a 20 X 20 run planted in crimson clover.  They have been there for three months and there has been little wear and tear on the plants.  They delicately graze about.  With any other breed that I have had the clover would by now be nonexistent.  Comments?

Welcome to BYC Cream legbar thread! I have found too that they are gentle on the greenery. While my rescue production reds guzzle all day long, the cream leggies gently pick about. They are pretty much the perfect breed, pretty, intelligent, lay amazing eggs, don't eat much and are effective but gentle foragers! Marge, Patty, Selma you're the best chooks! :)

Not at all. You just have to be wary of chicken facts posted online...lol I double checked the UK Standard to make sure they didn't allow the combination you posted. It is not a problem....enjoy your birds.

Luna must be a popular name for cream legbars. My Luna is the opposite. She's the cream one with the nice crest

Well we just have good taste in names and chickens. This is Luna. I'm planning on using her for a test hatch but then she will be going to the laying pen.
