Cream Legbars

Hard to believe that it's almost 4 weeks, and in that time they've went from this..

to this..

To this..

The funny part is sitting in the room watching them and hearing the boy's already trying to crow.

Cross your fingers this goes better than my last hatch. I lost all my Isbars but one, and all my Andalusians.

They grow so fast :) .GL with the eggs. Getting hatching fever here. My CLs are 4 weeks from POL.

@PDPercherons ~ They do grow fast don't they? One of my cockerels has been crowing for a while now. Only in the mornings so far. They will be 4 months old on Jan 1.

I will probably end up with only 1 usable cockerel. My older one had an accident. He must have fallen/been pushed off the roost one night and injured his leg. He's getting around now, but his name is now Crip.

The last pic shows 1 of 2 pullets I have that have white tips on the wings. Anyone run across this before?

I would like some advice regarding this young pullet's crest. She seems to have a rather large crest compared to her sisters. But she also has a very nice cream color. Will her chicks inherit this larger crest? I would like to put her in the breeding pen to continue the cream.

The crest color seems very good. I love the size of the crest.
Perhaps someone else could say if they think it is more likely to affect her skull shape?
She is pretty cute.

I have my first cream legbars. They seem to be extremely "gentle" on the vegetation. The seven pullets are in a 20 X 20 run planted in crimson clover. They have been there for three months and there has been little wear and tear on the plants. They delicately graze about. With any other breed that I have had the clover would by now be nonexistent. Comments?

They learn bad habits as quickly as the next chicken, just give them a chance =)

Do you have any comments about the color saturation of the image?

I found the later discussions...
Happy New Year Everyone!

I may have some pictures of the blue eggs that I took myself. It is digital color, so it is probably off a bit, but I personally saw eggs this color at the British National Show in November. I didn't have my Pantone Color Chart with me, but color is what I used to do for a living, so I have pretty good eye for such things as you know. I am very aware of color changes due to digital devices.
