Cream Legbars

Thank you so much! I have always followed the posts when others ask about their birds, but it's been really interesting to have this group of boys and evaluate them, and then the input means so much more. I've been sitting and watching them.

I'm still actually struggling with the decision of whether to keep any of them, as I'm pretty full up on chickens. This helps think about it.

How do you know when you are "full up" on chickens? My DW seems to think we are, and I seem to think we have room for a few hundred more...How do we know who is right? How do I convince her she is wrong? She can be kind of stubborn.

This is a good question. My spouse also thinks I keep too many birds. Does flattery and gifts work?

My little hatchling from what I thought was a cream legbar egg is 13 days old and starting to get some feathers... any guesses on what she actually is? She hatched from a small blue/green egg and I thought she was a cream legbar.

Lol. Well, I would first ascertain the reason why she says no more. Is it that she wants more time with you? That it's too much work for her (assuming she helps some), too costly? etc, etc.. Figuring out the reason will help you figure out your angle

For instance, if you spend more time with the chickens than she would like, make special time for the two of you each week (for example). Surprisingly, my husband just told me the other day I could have a 100 chickens if I wanted, as long as I did all the work. He does help some, he just doesn't want the main responsibility of them.

What type comb does it have ? That down color reminds me of silver laced in Wyandotte or perhaps Silver penciled or silver spangled Hamburg . The comb looks to be something other than single . Anything sound familiar ? Need more clues as to what breeds were on the place .

Here is my baby Rosecomb Cream Legbar Cockerel from egg I hatched shipped from Michael Baker in Washington State. Can't wait to see what he looks like with feathers

I spend "special" time with her not even 20 years ago? How much "special time" do we need?

I remember back when I only had 100 birds....
