The guy I got these fowl from only had this type of fowl, no other types to cross with. So they're purebred. He ended up with an explosion of chicks, so he was giving them away for free.

Just because he had one type of chicken doesn't mean they're purebred... He probably got a bunch of banryard mixes with OEGB in their background as his starting stock and they started breeding.

Well, if they are purebred OEGBs, then they're mixed colors. OEGB don't come in partridge.

All silkies have recessive white in their genetics, it can appear as leakage in any colored variety.

No all silkies do not have recessive white in their genetics.
No recessive white does not show up as leakage ever.
It doesn't show up in other colors at all. If its there it removes all color from the whole bird.
If they carry one copy it is completely hidden.

I know what I'm talking about, I've done my research, and all colored Silkies have a white Silkie background. They were mixed with different colored chickens to produce colored Silkies.

They're not red jungle fowl.
I'd suspect mixed breeds. What color skin do they have?
Looks like some yellow on the shanks of the one but not the other.
RJF don't have the yellow skin gene.
And with one having yellow skin and the other doesn't appear to not be the same breed but mixes.

I'm done with this thread, thanks to all the disagreements, & arguments added upon when they're unwanted, & completely un-needed.
