So.. I posted not long ago that when I was 19 I tried to get my free credit report and was denied because, apparently, I can't give my REAL adresses of where I lived when I was younger (?) and they refused to send it to me.. then the lady mentioned on the phone that there was a mortgage out in my name dating in the 90's.. I would have been like 9 years old!!!!!!
I tried and tried and eventually gave up in fustration.. then kinf of forgot about it with the topsy-turvy-ness of life.

I decided I better check up on it...
So I just went to the website to get my free annual credit report.... and they are saying...

1.Your credit file indicates you may have a home loan, opened in or around September 2010. Who is the credit provider for this account?
DIME BANK
FLEET MORTGAGE
LONG ISLAND SVGS BK
UNIVERSAL AMERICAN MORTGAGE COMPANY
NONE OF THE ABOVE

1.What is your total scheduled monthly payment for the above-referenced home loan?
$1,050 - $1,149
$1,150 - $1,249
$1,250 - $1,349
$1,350 - $1,449
NONE OF THE ABOVE

1.On which of the following streets have you lived?
CABLE
CANNON
CAROLINA
CEMETERY
NONE OF THE ABOVE

1.In which of the following cities have you lived?
FORT DENAUD
LAKE ALFRED
ROTONDA WEST
VENUS
NONE OF THE ABOVE

I've never owned a home! Or applied for one!
I've never lived in any of those places!

What springs to mind is those credit places that figure stuff out for you.... I could contact one of those, right? I can't do this on my own.. it wont even give me my report without this info.
So, what's a good credit figuring out place??

I'm maaaad!!

So those are the questions you need to answer to get to your report? If that is the case and you have never done those things, one set of options are none of the above...and if you answer those right, and they match, perhaps it will show your real credit report?

I faintly remember answering questions with no real answers to get to mine, but it was over a year ago. My credit dates back to when I was about 6 so that part might not be so weird. My parents put my name on things then to build up my credit that I have now, so perhaps your parents did the same by putting you on their house?

First.. yes I began to wonder if those might just be devious security questions.. and answered Na right after I posted.
Then it said it can't give me my report (probably from the freeze I put on it 4 years ago when the lady on the phone asked me those questions and she said something looked fishy and advised me to do that)... it says now I have to mail in my request.. along with a copy of my social security card... which, wonder of wonders.. has been misplaced. I cannot stand the social security office.

Second.. My parent would not have been legally able to get a home loan in my name.. my mom says she never knew of any such thing.. allthough my father was just the sort to do that.. he did it to her on other stuff..
but it wouldn't be legal. I was a minor. He surely defaulted on it anyway. I'm not responsible for any such thing if I was under 18, nor have I signed any documents like that in my adulthood.

I hate the credit system! It's mine.. just give me my report!

Sorry.. rant..

It sounds like the real problem here is Identity Theft. Someone used your social security number to obtain a loan.

I would contact Social Security Administration to see what the next step should be.

You need to go down to your local sheriff's office and file an identity theft complaint, they will give you the appropriate forms to file and fill out. Send a letter to all of the credit reporting agencies stating that there is a mortgage being report against your name and social security number, dispute the debt and demand proof of the debt and request a copy of your credit report.

They are required by law to provide any and all documents they have regarding the reporting. When you find out who the leinholder is and all the specifics of the mortgage reporting, send the same statutory letter to that leinholder demanding proof of the mortgage inclduing all documents signed by you, all photo identification supplied and all documents supplied as proof of income and etc etc.

They have a certain number of days to respond and provide the information...if they fail to do so, they must report the the debt to credit agencies as fraudulent and order it removed. It will take time and diligenced on your part.

We went through this with my husband's credit report several years ago and it still took almost a year once it was determined fraudlent. So swtay on them and do not let them breathe until it is corrected.

Good luck to you.

Also I'm kind of wary of anyone who asks me to mail a copy of my social security number anywhere... maybe they've got major faith in USPS, but I don't... not when it's known that ID thieves get SO much info that way. Nuh uh, no way. I'm with the others... police and/or your bank...

OK John Conner here's your mission: Live life so that credit reports don't matter. Sure, you think they matter but when your own personal economic collapse happens and it WILL, you'll thank me if you got with the program and stopped trusting banksters, stopped using credit, kept all transactions cash and face to face (You can even pay utility bills this way) and prepared for the CRASH. Read up on Survivalism, Prepping, etc and get with the program or you're going to wake up one morning under a bridge and wonder what happened.

Thank you everyone.
Will try to decide on my next action out of those suggested, tomorrow.. and post back.

Garlic - Yep.. I have never gotten a loan for anything. I don't even like banks. I do have a debit card that I use though. The only thing I would ever want to do on credit is buy a house and land.. since I doubt I'll ever have a hundred grand or two just lying around. This theif/loan.. is putting a kink in my plans so I'm gonna fix it. Maybe I can take the individual to court too. If it wasn't my long since passed father, that is.

Now... is everyone sure I didn't over-react on those questions? Was it possible it was just a tricky security measure? What happens when someone else tried to get their annual credit report? Maybe I can have mom try tomorrow.
