Boggy Bottom Bantams I am working on Orpingtons. BOB has made Crele Orpingtons for a few years that are being widely viewed as Crele.
Maybe it is me but your birds do not look like Crele Orpingtons. They look like a project to me of another breed. IF Bob says it is not possible to make a Crele with what I have, I will be more then happy to tell all here. And still will change not one thing in what I do. I know Buff Orpingtons are one of the most genetically diverse varieties of Orpingtons. Buff is viewed as Red, thus that is why we call it "RED LEAKAGE" as an undesired trait in our Black & Blue Orpingtons and not "BUFF" leakage. I have already bred Buff to Black and have had RED colored feathers come out in their offspring. NOT just BUFF.
Everyone who knows me, will know I show pics of all of my project birds. And I am willing to bet I will make some from these Cuckoos when taken to Buff Orpingtons that look like Crele Orpingtons. Maybe in your mind and others they won't, but to the naked eye they will look alot like Creles.
As you say you don't care what Bob says. Many throughout the UK and the rest of the Orpington world think very highly of Bob and I am one of them.
So if you have made a Crele Orpington please show us.
This is one of Bob's Crele Orpingtons.
I am using my Cuckoos to make more Cuckoos, Red Cuckoos, Lemon Cuckoos an I expect to have some look like Creles too in my F-1's.
I am willing to bet on it!
