Creole Dorkings????

Great! had one also that wasn't strong, we thought it was getting stronger, but it started failing and we ended up culling it. It was one I helped out of the shell. I got my wing bands today so later tonight I will be able to band them and take a picture of each and we can compare. I think the dark grey with the white dot on the heads is the roosters we will need to use with the red hens, but we will have to see how they develop to be sure. Let me know when you have more room in your incubator.!

I will! These guys are so darn cute

i can't wait to see what they will look like when their feathers start coming in

feather sexing does not work on them (lol.. they all sexed as females that way).. which I figured would happen since they aren't bred for it

As soon as I set up a better light I'll try vent sexing them and see what I get.. my eyes aren't what they used to be.. so I need a decent magnifying light... but that will have to wait for a different hatch!

Here are mine at 1 week. I had one smaller too. I think the heat was too high because I had some crooked toes too. These are genetically diverse since I bred cuckoos to reds, and then got new roosters to breed to that cross. I am really interested to see how they turn out using the dry method, and lowering my temp. those in my inci are due in about a week.

Chick 4:

chick 5: The "mahogany coloured one"

Chick 6: hatched with a bad hock.. going to let him live so long as he is eating.. I want to see his final color.. plus there is always freezer camp!

Chick 7.. the "dwarf".. seems to also have a hock problem (weak hocks) but eats and runs around fine.. just was tiny from day one..and is still tiny as the others grow

The BIG guy is my spotted EE chick that hatched out the same day as the dorkings... he's a moose!

Congrats! I think the black/ greyish ones will be the roos that can be mated to the reds to get crele. I have my second round hatching now. I am very excited to see how many hatch with the dry incubation.!

The little "dwarf" chick still has not grown at all.. it's still the size it was when it hatched.. so I may end up culling the little guy.. he eats and drinks.. just isn't growing...

lol.. you don't have any bantams in the mix do you?
