Our Polish rooster, Pufflehead, frequently scratches his face.
Instant diagnosis: crest mites, right? But I can't see anything. No mites, no eggs, no droppings. His skin looks great, all over him, except for on his face where he scratches it. There it looks like he has eczema.
None of our other chickens have crests, and as far as I know, none of them have mites either.
If it is crest mites, what's the best way to treat and the best way to prevent them? I prefer natural treatments.
