Crested pekin bleeding

Little update: husband cleaned up him up with a little peroxide and water, said it looked like some feathers were pulled out. It looks to be healing just fine. I've noticed over the last month or so that my female pekin's crest is a lot less "poofy", and now with the drake's injury i suspect they're just beating up on each other and pulling some feathers out? I saw a few specks of blood on my female's crest this morning. I haven't seen them scuffling at all during the day, but perhaps things get crazy in there overnight

No chickens. I'm sure the other pekin is a girl, she's got a crazy loud quack lol. One of my khaki campbells might be a drake, but they're about 10weeks younger than my big birds and are just starting to find their quacks so i'm not 100% on them yet

Yes, we integrated the khaki campbells with the 4 big ducks about a month ago and everything's been good until this injury. I think my pekin drake had a male hormone surge recently as he's been a little standoffish with me and I've seen him doing some head bobbing/necking with the ladies
Crested Ducks are a deformity and can have neurological issues or suffer brain damage because the skull isn't closed but covered by skin. Why they grow the plumage on the head.

I'd be very careful with your crested female because the males can injure her grabbing her crest in mating. Your drake can also be injured pretty bad as you have seen. That is usually by another drake. I don't know how thick the skin is over the crest but under the skin is open skull. Depending on size of the crest depends on how open. I'd try and find out who is doing this so if need be you can separate till healed.
