Heres two random birds I bought on a whim... They were so adorable with their little poofy hair-dos.
I know what the first one is a white crested black polish
The second one, I have to guess its a mix (?)
They both have glossy black bodies, #1 is clearly a male, has a long elegant tail and starting to crow. #2 might be female based only that its tail is shorter than the first, but I could be mistaken. They look to be pretty close in size.
They both have the V-shaped comb, and their comb/wattles are about the same size.

my camera got screwed up shortly after I took these photos. I realize that they arent the most ideal angle - gotta fix that!

I hope you haven't put these in with birds you already have. From the looks of the damaged nares(nose holes) I would suspect they have had some upper respiratory infection that lead to a build up there. It was not dealt with, soften the area, and lead to the disfigurement.

The Polish have nostrils shaped differently than other birds- those don't look wrong to me. Nonetheless, it is important to quarantine for 30 days to make certain all avenues are covered.

we did have a little breakout of respiratory infection when the rains came, I quarantined the sick birds and administered tylan 50. Some were really ill but they all recovered quite nice all very healthy and active.

I was looking at #2 again and he definently has a big red V, so for sure a boy. Thanks for the info!
