Crested x non-cested breeding, duckling ratio?

this a long time in coming...4-9 months!

anyways, as you know little Jumper is a crested mallard, and SHOULD be a hen, if she is when she ia old enough to breed, and takes an interest in my non-crested drake Jacobi.

what will the ratio of ducklings be in terms of crests and not??

I was always told crested x non = 50/50 chance for both, basically if 10 ducklings hatch, 5 will be crested and 5 will not? is that true??

Yes it should be 50/50 bit you might only notice it if you hatch large batches.

ok, yay lol, I've wanted crested mallards for forever.

I might one day add snowy mallards to my flock,but I doubt it, since I said after Jumper NO more flying/wild breeds

ofcourse if I did, i'd wanna have crested snowies, how would that work??, I know breeding a snowy to a grey wouldn't result in pure color.

I was told that even with 2 crested ducks your chance is 1/4% that they will be crested..My crested breds with a non crested and I have never had a crested yet!!
