We bought 4 purebred Amerucana chicks from a breeder 9 weeks ago.
We noticed one them had funny head feathers.
So I contacted the breeder and she said she accidentally gave us one crevecoeur chick.
We have never had a crevecoeur.
I read they lay white eggs and are similar to the crested polish breed but slightly bigger.
Were trying to figure out if it's a rooster or hen 9 weeks old..
I posted some pics what do you think?

I’m not familiar with the breed however with that much comb and wattle development i’m guessing cockerel.

Better comb pics?

Ok now I know it's a male I'm not sure what to do with it.
The breeder I bought it from sold it me accidently I asked for all purebred Amerucanas.
She sells straight run Crevecoeur chicks for $8
Is it worth any money being a rare breed?
Should I just butcher it?

I'd try and sell it.
At least give it a try.
It just seems wrong butchering a chicken with a cool hairstyle....
Rofl.
I should think someone might be interested.

You could also try to rehome it. Were the Americans straight run as well or we're the sold as sexed pullets?

Straight run.
We bought 4 purebred Amerucanas from her.
One died at a week old.
One was a cockerel.
One was a pullet.
And well one ended up being a crevecoeur cockerel.
So yeah not a great experience.

That's frustrating.
Are the remaining Ameraucanas actually Ameraucanas, or Easter Eggers?
Do you have photos of them?
What pattern and colour variety are they, if pure?
