***Crevecoeur Thread***

Pics
Well, I spent time with my Crevies tonight and tagged their feetsies, so I can tell them apart. 3 of them have thicker bones (legs) and are larger than one with fine bones and is smaller. I suspect I got 3 roos and one hen. I'll have to re-home all but one roo I guess. At least I did get a hen if my suspicions are correct :)

I just thought these pictures were so cute I had to share

I just love that gawky stage!

I wish I had gotten this pose with a nice background, but oh well! These are my biggest and my smallest birds. I'm pretty sure the big guy is a roo and the small one is a hen, but we'll see???

Here they are side by side, look at how different the leg sizes are! You can't tell in this picture, but they have such cute long toes!

Cute babies. I just wanted to share some of my juvies growing up. I am culling a few of the first group this week.

An example of something I will not be keeping.

Awww, clean shaven boys not allowed, only bearded hippies I guess? LOL Hope you find someone to take him 'cause he is such a cutie! You have nice deep black color there, and I really like the boy in the second and third picture (same guy?) Hens look great too! Maybe some day I will have a place where I can actually try breeding, but at the moment, we have no room in our suburban backyard for that

Hubby is warming up to the idea of moving to the country, maybe after youngest finishes high school

That'd be so nice!

Well, I was just looking closely at my crevies and checking their leg bands (so they don't get too tight) and my biggest one, who has very large legs, seems to have color on the wattle area, and I think he's a boy, but the other 3 don't have such color, and are finer boned. So I'm hoping that I might be SUPER lucky and have 3 hens and a roo

Of course, I'm counting my chickens again... Ugh, LOL. Really hope it is so though! (knock on wood)

At 3 weeks, they're really getting into their ugly phase, LOL. So cute! I really can't wait to see how they turn out though! I'm also really hoping that my rooster box will work...

I really want to keep 3 roosters (2 sultans and 1 crevecoeur) Not to mention my Seramas..... Only legally allowed 1 though....

Nope, I'm wrong about one. Today, they are 3 weeks, 5 days old, and I took pictures of them. You can't see much if any color on their combs, however, you can see wattles coming in on what I think are the boys. Here are some photos, let me know what you think?

I guess I'm obsessed with sex. Er... I mean sexing! Yah, sexing, and just wonder if I might be right based on wattles growing? The last two pictures show that the throat is pinkish, but there are no wattles?

Now I think I have two roosters and two hens.

I totally agree, I'm not taking anything to the bank, LOL. They're only babies once though, so it may be my only chance to see if there are any foretelling signs. LOL. No, this is a matter of curiosity and obsessive observation ;P And maybe avoidance of house cleaning duties
