I wanted to put the "paranormal" in the heading so that anybody that wasnt interested, wouldnt have to read it.

I was spending a couple nights at my parents this weekend. My parents are gone to it was kind of a mini country vacation for my birthday.
Friday night went great. Two of my sisters and three of my nieces arrived for pizza/movie night. They left late and I was out from the minute by head hit the pillow.
Saturday was a quiet day. My youngest son brought "Animal House" over to watch. (He is in a kind of "catch up" on older movies he hasnt seen kick.)
We were watching/talking when from upstairs came three big THUMPS. I mean, these things literally shook the house. It seemed to be coming from an upstairs bedroom so automatically we thought that my youngest daughter was dancing/jumping around. I went up there to tell her to knock it off. She was fast asleep in another room....
Just about every time I go there, something happens. I wasnt scared, just perplexed and thats usually the case. It would have to be extremely frightening to upset me.
I was talking with my daughters boyfriend, he says there is a scientific explaination for everything. I am KIND OF along that same line of thought, only I think the things we cannot explain is science we havent discovered yet.

Wow. Huh. I was always fascinated by ghosts and paranormal things, but nonetheless also terrified. There used to be an old road in our backyard, dug up and the house I live in now was made. Sometimes, I get the feeling as though someone's watching me. Creepy. Once, I thought I saw something move in the corner of my eye, so I looked up, towards my mirror, thought I saw a frail, black-cloaked "thing" standing there, just shown in the mirror. Then it was gone.

I'm not saying that I know or think that paranormal of any kind is real, I'm just... unsure. Open to opinions.

Then again, my favorite show of all time is ghost adventures...

I dont know, I have always liked to hear about inexplicable happenings. Probably cause I have had a lot of that occur in my life.
Deb, you are right, I believe there is a creator that made everything. And it would be arrogant or ignorant to believe there is nothing other than what we see day to day.

Back in 1979, there was an old farm house that had three stomps and my dog reacted to it, barked and whimpered at the door which leads to upstairs. Well I opened the door, Fluffers would bark and would not go upstairs with me. My parents were gone for the day and would be arriving in a few hours that night when it happened. So I snapped on the lights, looked around the bedrooms and nothing was found.

When my parents got home, I told them what happened. It did not surprise them because they thought they heard something too! So the next morning, Dad decided to investigate to inspect the house top to bottom to explain why the noises were on the steps.

He did not find anything, nor the black walnut trees nearby caused it. Nothing was touching the house. No loose dormer covers, or loose window panes( those large black storm windows that you have to attach it by hooks on top and hook on bottom inside). So we never did find the cause for it.

We only lived there for a year and moved out. Not long after we left, the farmhouse caught on fire.

Now it is no longer there anymore.

I love Ghost Hunters too!

It was your daughters BF sneaking in/out of the window...

I used to work at a McDonald's and during my tenure there, one of our employees committed suicide (long, sad story, he had had a rough life). Shortly after he died, odd things like boxes falling off the top shelf, doors unlocked when we thought they were locked, finding a barbecue sauce in an open box of sweet and sour, that sort of thing. One of his old friends off handedly said, "It's just Chris," one day when it happened. So we don't know if he was haunting the place ( 3 or 4 of his close friends worked there still) or if it was just their way of explaining the weird stuff. Even a few years after he died that stuff was still happening and we would call it "Just Chris." I haven't worked there in a few years and one of Chris's old friends is now on the Detroit PD so I don't know if it's still going on.

I also used to work in a used book store (built 1836) and used to hear footsteps and creaking all the time, doors opening on their own and such

I've lived in 3 haunted houses. We peacefully coexisted. Having stuff moving around, disappearing and reappearing can be annoying at times though.
