Cripes. Not again.(Continuation of paranormal thread)

LOL, yeah, I think in "real life" its kind of a gamble, it doesnt differentiate. Its more being in the right place and the right time. I always tell people that havent seen anything EVER that you never know, maybe tomorrow it will be "your turn in the barrel",lol.

The first haunted house I lived in the ghost was active pretty much constantly. The other two houses the ghosts were active intermittently.

This is funny and SUPER embarassing all the same, but my mother lived with us for what seemed like forever last year, and one day she tells me and my husband... " I got raped by a ghost!" OMG! She's killing me!

My mom is nortious for being over medicated, needs meds to control the effects of the other meds.... I'm suprised Really, that shes still alive! She's such a drama queen! We always chuckle about that one! When mom dies, if she becomes a ghost, she'll be the type to walk into walls

not through them! Bless her over medicated little heart! I gotta Love Her!

I want to go Ghost hunting so bad! My brother keeps bugging me to go! IDK, I told him yeah scooby, if we were kids it would be one thing, but know that were adults it would be called tresspassing!

I could just see the look on my hubbys face to come get me at the police station for that!

Isn't always tresspassing.... I am actually a member of a paranormal investigation club and we have gotten permission to go to a number of haunted buildings at the college the group is based in. You would really be surprized how willing or at least interested most folks are in that stuff. the hardest part is getting started. You need to prove you are responsible and serious, and have accountability for what happens. Once you can get in ONE place though, as long as you are good, you now have a reference, and the next is easier. We even had someone very high up in the university ask if we would investigate his home.
All those TV shows, though they make it look WAY more exciting than it is, have made it more acceptable for folks to investigate phenomena like that.
Hardest part is remaining scientific in the face of less provable evidence (and things that aren't caught on camera) espacially since most of my group is fairly spiritual.

I'm not sure just "being a Christian" makes one not believe in Ghosts. Wierd.

I'm a Christian, and I believe that the Devil can use things, spirits, and events to make us question God, and/or cause us harm. That is his "job" isn't it.

I'm pretty confident when I was staying in my Aunties house in VA, I believe there was a spirit causing ruckus with my pets. My dogs who had never fought or growled before in their life, spend the whole month angry, growing and on edge. I ended up asking a pastor there for some blessed water (holy water-however) and I prayed in each room. We made it thru the last week and got outta dodge. Something was definatly not right in that house.

Didnt mean to turn this into a whole religious thing, just saying, being a Christian doesnt particularly mean that one can't believe that the paranormal exsists.

At the risk of turning this into a severely major debate...
Scientifically speaking, nearly every "ghost" sighting can be explained quite easily, that is, hallucinations or dreams. As far as the "thumps" go, I got nothin'. If I had to guess, it would probably just be the house "settling." The rest of the sightings are likely demonic.

Now, would you like me to prove that God exists? Clearly, there had to be a non-physical Creator. The laws of nature tell us that nothing physical is eternal, energy will run out. Ergo, the matter in the Big Bang could not possibly have always existed, nor could the energy that formed the matter have always existed. The material could not have spontaneously appeared without the aid of a spiritual/metaphysical Creator. God, however, could have always existed (He has) because He is outside of time and space, that is, the physical universe, and is therefore not bound by the laws of nature. The existence of God is a logical necessity.

As far as believing that a spirit can send you a message but not believing in ghosts, have you ever read the Bible? It quite explicitly says where the soul of a deceased person goes, and it certainly does not hang around and haunt random places for no discernable reason. Angels and demons, however, do exist and can perform many of the things attributed to "ghosts," and most always demons are the ones doing this.

I understand. The woman's husband did believe in ghost and he was a Christian. Christians have different opinions on ghosts.

I am sorry if I implied that they didn't.

Na. On my end it wont turn into a debate. I figure there is so much diversity in peoples opinions. I know what "I" believe and have experienced. Thats good enough for me.

I have an odd question:

I am a Christian, but I have a belief. Is it possible that Heaven can be like a sifter? You know...we go there at the end of this life, but can return to this "world" if you will? Only, you aren't literally of this world. You are a shadow and you can only visit areas of your past life that are memories. You cannot explore past your life memories.

Is this at all possible? Am I the only one that thinks this way?
