Yesterday, my husband hijacked my screen name and asked what to do in our situation, but didn't get the answers he was looking for. I thought I would rephrase the question to see if we can get our question answered.
Okay, we have 6 eggs in the bator and today is day 18. For the first 5 days of incubation, we had the eggs in a homemade bator but then we went out a bought a little giant still air bator because the temp and humidity were hard to conrtroll on the homemade setup. So, on day 5 we changed bators, (once we got the new set up with the proper heat and humidity.) We have candled the eggs in the last few days and they all look alive, we can see the babies moving, but one egg looks far more developed than the rest. Husband thinks this is due to the inconsistancy of the homemade bator. He thinks the one egg was closer to the light/heat for the first 5 days, so it developed faster, and the others did develop once they had the proper conditions. We are going to stop turning the large baby today because it is day 18, but what do we do with the rest? If they need a few extra days to hatch, do we turn them for a few more days and then let them rest so they can hatch? Will they have problems if we don't turn because they are less devoloped? Either way, we don't want to cause the death of these peeps because we did or did not do something at the right time. Suggestions about turning or not turning needed please.
