In the Brooder
My chicks recently turned 3 months old and I have an idea of their sex, but would appreciate any other opinions/ideas on what they are. I think I might have one male IB, one female IB, and a female BS. I am not that confident, but these are my thoughts.
This is the IB I believe is female:
(front)
(middle)
(right)
As you can see, “she” has the rounded semi circles on her neck, and less barring on her feathers as opposed to the other IB. This is what makes me think that it is a she.
Although you can kind of see “him” in some of the above photos, here are some better shots of the other IB:
(left)
“He” has a much different appearance on “his” chest, and much more barring on the wings. This makes me lean towards a cock.
The BS has also been in a couple other photos, but here are some more:
As you may or may not be able to see, “she” has developed a lot of brown, especially on the wings. The back is fairly black, along with the tail feathers. The BS is the one I am most uncertain of, so “she” is truly a best guess. I could be totally off base with any of them, so please correct me so I can learn from my mistakes. Thank you!
