Crochet Chicken Saddle/Apron ?

Has anyone here ever crocheted a chicken apron/ saddle? Anyone have a pattern?? I'm not much of a sewer, and I'm new to crocheting!

wondered if you ever found a pattern? shouldn't be hard to figure out- i just used a jersey cloth, and cut holes to fit over her wings and tail, but i think a crocheted one would be awesome!

well, i started working on one, and got to thinking, if the hen is free ranging, isn't there a risk of getting caught in bushes? i made them a couple with a knit fabric, but it seems pretty snag proof. Now, if they don't free range, it probably isn't a problem- will post pics and directions as i do it-

I have 8 bare hens and am in the process of increasing their protein and getting that blue kote spray stuff. I love to crochet so I will work on one this week and let you know if the pattern stays on, gets caught, pecked on......

and my big question is if it will interfere with the feathers growing back when they finally get to molt????!!!!!!!
