So I was working on these in rehearsal tonight (ohhh and some of mine might be a little wonky as I'm doing them mostly by feel in the dark. Just put mine in the corner you don't want anyone to see...) and one of my students came by and asked what I was knitting. I said nothing, that I was in fact crocheting. He then repeated "But what are you knitting?". Sigh. College kids today. I replied, "I'm not knitting. I am crocheting. Knitting uses two sharp pointy sticks. Crocheting uses one stumpy hooky stick. I'm crocheting." He was awed and amazed and quite pleased at his new advanced crafting knowledge. It turned into a quite an interesting discussion on the two skills.
So, YAY! Already this project has been educational!
And I'm very sorry about the wonkiness. When you look at it just consider that you are supporting the arts.
This def. is the cheeriest thread on the board, lol!! Wonderful first thing in the morning read...it's just refreshing to see all the places normal women can fit alittle hooking in...you all are so talented!!
We now have expanded our hooking venues to school auditoriums and give tutorials to students, and we hook in the doctor's office (or at least talk about it there).....can't wait till we have a hooker in the front pew sunday morning..won't that be a sermon to remember!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
..hey if you can't manage anymore squares, let us know, between us we can cover your difference..no problem...just let us know...and be so very glad that we can't sign that cast ...can you just imagine our signatures?!!!"Scrambled Hooker wants you back on the square asap!!!".
Shelly...hope you aren't in too much pain from that break and I hope the karma comes back around to that hit and run person soon in the very worst way
...
Later Hookers, have a great fun day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and City...hope your mom doesn't have a stroke over you hookin on a chicken forum..what is the world comin too?!! But yes, Mangled & Kris are right, 20 are required, some hook faster than others and are crankin out the squares...do at least 20, more if you can.
Shelly - hope you are back to being a happy hooker soon and that break heals uneventfully!
I've been just really busy, guys. I used to love my job but it's gotten to be a drag with all the layoffs and feeling like your butt is on the line all the time. I'm working way too many hours with little progress on my projects with all the day-to-day fire drills, and my stress level is through the roof.
Add to that the 4 kids, the neglected hubby, money worries, church duties and my charity work and some days I am feeling like I'm going to unravel. (no pun intended...)
Whine whine whine - at any rate I know my burdens are of the 'good' sort, but hoping that work will calm down a bit and I can get caught up on all the fun stuff!!
Doc watched me hook in his office and gave mr the green light to keep at it. He said it looked like it may even help by flexing the mucles in my hand with out moving the wrist.
So the going will be slow but I think I can do it. And in honor of out Little Hooking group here I went with "hooker red" for my cast color.
