I just love to set and watch my brooders for a while before i go to bed. Well must be off. Hook ya'll later Mawchickkidie

For fun I did a Google search for "Crochet Square Swap" and guess what? This thread came up #3 in the search results out of 594,000 pages!!

How cool is that?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The red light is flickering on the corner ladies....bought to go out...crank 'em on out ya'll and get done...You committed to doing 20 squares, you will get back 20 squares, if you did more, there may be more to go around in the split...unfortunately we have never heard from some folks that committed so not sure if they hung up their high heels early and dropped out or what....but everyone else..."git er done", lol!!!

I boxed mine yesterday, and will drop them off today!! The flat rate box I used is costing $8.95 to send, so I put $10.00 in for you, Darlene. If it is not enough for some reason, let me know....I COULD work another evening and send more.....

Wound up with 50!!!!!

I'm going to keep working on mine until the last minute!

I was gonna work on some at the skating rink, but ended up talking to some other parents instead. And now they want ME to go skating, too! DD doesn't want me to, which adds to the incentive as far as I'm concerned

I said I'd think about it, but first I'd have to find my old wrist guards, elbow pads, knee pads and some shorts with heavy padding for my butt!!

Do 40-something skating hookers bounce?

Glad that cast is off!!

I have a shamless plug for my crochet charity stuff... Mods, if this is not appropriate, feel free to edit or delete the post.

I am the coordinator for our local chapter of Threads of Love. We're a charity sewing/yarn crafting group that provides hand crafted items to local NICUs for the preemies, ill babies and fetal or infant demises. We are a Christian organization (just want to make sure everyone knows that up front) and we do provide a prayer card with each packet that goes to the hospitals, but it's not an 'in your face' type of ministry. Our aim is really to share God's love with these families who are hurting and provide a little brightness in the isolettes.

Now, for my shamelss plea...for the first time since we started back in 2004, I don't have enough hats for our packets this month. We have a special need for BOYish colors. We put a hand knit or crocheted hat in each packet we send to the hospitals. I also need white hats for our bereavement packets. This is a great project for all those half skiens of yarn you have laying around - literally ANY color will work - red/white/blue for July 4, greens/browns/reds - you aren't limited by any means to 'baby' colors or yarns.

I can use ANY pattern hat with a brim size of 2"=7" for the white bereavement hats and 3"-6" for the preemie (non white) hats. To get the brim measurement, flatten the hat and measure across the brim (the opening).

If you have some free time and want to do some 'hookin' for a good cause, I'd be so happy if you would be willing to do some hats for us. You can mail them in when you are done, and your postage as well as the yarn cost is tax deductible.

For more information on Threads of Love & pics of the items we produce you can visit our website:

www.charlottethreadsoflove.org

To download hat patterns, you can download the yarn crafters pattern kit at:

http://www.charlottethreadsoflove.org/patterns

You aren't limited to these patterns at all - ANY pattern will work fine - as long as the brim size is right.

You can send completed hats (or blankets or whatever!)

Thank you thank you!!

Just FYI, there are TOL chapters all across the country, so if this is something you are interested in doing locally, visit the national website www.threadsoflove.org to find if there is a chapter near you...

In other news....I'm up close to 20 squares now!!!

I think that's a great cause Arlee!! Maybe this summer folks will miss hooking so much they will crank out some preemie hats!! I've seen alot of church groups making scarves, hats and prayer shawls, great idea, hope you get some contributed from this group...another idea for you might be to make a general post and ask the KNITTERS!!! That;s a big population on this forum. They can get those two needles flying and crank out some baby hats! Good luck!

Ok Hookers...Im watchin for those squares now.....
