Last year I made this afghan out of leftover yarn. It can fit the top of a twin bed.

Thats a cool idea! and by color too!!I got ambitious and decided to straightened out my yarn. I have been keeping the yarn in a large cardboard drum, like a 55 gallon drum. Every time I went looking for a certain color all the yarn would unravel and get tangled up....
My husband keeps his extra "stuff" in old milk crates out in the barn. I confiscated his milk crates and put his "stuff" in buckets and gave him the cardboard drum in trade....
It took me three days to to straighten the crates and yarn out....View attachment 3984839

1995 had a subscription to Crochet Digest. The little magazine (7.5"x5.25") came monthly and it usually had 10 or 12 patterns. I didn't follow the pattern as written. The little ribbons were eliminated and I used left over scrap yarn. Using scrap yarn, every Sun Bonnet Sue is different. Doing the afgahn I enlarge the pattern on my printer because I was going cross-eyed trying to read the small print.I love that!!! where did you find the pattern?

That's going to be pretty! I love granny square!I’m working on this granny stitch dress! I just have half of the squares to do, then seaming and weaving!! A lot of work left but the two side panels are the biggest and it feels great to have those done.
I decided to do mine in a charcoal gray yarn! But I think for my daughters I’ll make some fun colored dresses. This designer has the same dresses in kid sizes!!
