My sweet little chick was all fine and dandy, then she reached 2 weeks and I started noticing her beak was a little crooked. 2 days later her top and bottom aren't touching anymore! Is she gonna be ok? Is this normal? Or is she doomed? New to chickens here so please help if you have seen this before! I don't want to lose her but I'm scared y'all are going to tell me she's doomed. :/

i have heard of this happening and my friend had this they can live fine as long as their eating fine and drinking fine i have a silkie rooster that has sorta crooked beak but not like yours but like i said if she is eating and drinking by her self and fine then she will be okay

She is eating and drinking so I will just cross my fingers she stays healthy! Thanks!

hi I also have a cross beak mine is 6 months old
I've had her since she was a baby . its important to trim the beak about every three weeks this keeps them from getting worse. watch there weight closely as they have a tendency to be thin
I feed mine mash separately. she can eat the mash much easier and she eats more of it helping to keep her weight up.I make the mash out of regular feed.I just add water and mash it up. they LOVE it! so the best advice I can give I'd keep the beak trimmed I trim both upper and very carefully and with extreme caution the lower. keep her on mash and she should thrive! she will lead a happy life with your help and trimming. if you have ANY questions I'm happy to help just pm me. I'll help the best I can. :)
