Crooked beak?!

i have an ameracuna hen that was hatched in March 2012 with a crooked beak and is still doing great today! I have a feeder that fills from the top with out a lid she is just big enough to get in there to eat and puts her whole face in the food. At least she figured it out so i don't have to do much except trim the beak. It sounds like i might need to separate her this winter because she is a bit skinny compared to other hens.
Good Luck!
Try the yogurt mash for her. It works really well with ones who are able to mostly eat on their own & just gives them that extra little bit of help & some extra protein as well.

what exactly is yogurt mash? I assume yougurt and laying mass mixed together?
thank you!
Elijah
Yogurt mixed with either mash or crumbles just to give it enuf "stickiness" so the bird can pick it up in clumps instead of trying to catch each little piece individually. It helps them get more in their beak at a time thus more into the bird.

She should be fine. She might need to stay in a dog carrier/crate come winter. calories keep them warm, and she might not be able to afford the calories.
