Hey everyone. I was just wondering how to know if a chickens crop is hurt or damaged. And what it would mean if their crop was hurt?

Could you be more specific? Crops are muscles that can become slow or stop working due to some illnesses. They can be damaged by overeating and a condition known as pendulous crop can occur. Crops can become impacted from eating long grasses or other objects that get tangled up and cause an impaction. They can also get infected by bacteria or other infections such as in sour crop, and wuit working. They also can become injured if a chicken eats something sharp or injures the crop.
I would check his crop in the early morning, before he has had a chance to eat, to see if it has emptied. Do you think he was injured, or is his leg paralyzed?
