Crop issues need HELP!

I had to go to a birthday party and when I came home she seemed perky. Her crop wasn't super hard or full butit wasn't empty. She has been eating and drinking tho so that's normal. She appeared to have had a bunch of poops in the crate and it was yucky so I let her out into the pen with the others for rhe last hour before dusk. She can't get much grass because most of it is dead now. Will check her crop in the am again

Same here! My little one has a full crop, and since I was off of work today I was able to monitor poop output. Some were good, some a little yucky, but tomorrow morning I will know if the treatment is really working and also, that her crop is also doing its job or I am back to square 1.

This morning her crop feels small maybe a tiny grainy at the bottom. She drank water and did the neck jerking thing. She's out in the mini run with her friends and im wondering if she still has sour crop now that the blockage has passed what else should i do?

I think I would just keep an eye on her. Check her crop when you can through the day and if you normally feed scratch or cracked corn I would cut that out for a couple days. Get some grit when you can. It sounds like she's in the clear since she has been eating and pooping as normal. I do suggest you look into worming since it can help avoid a lot of other health problems. Congrats on a successful treatment!

Mine went to sleep with a large crop last night, and it is smaller, but it was not empty. There were several poops last night, but not a lot. I wonder if his system is going to be a little slow. What do you all think? Should I withhold food until it is empty? My hubster is getting a bit tired of my total attentiveness to this chickies needs

Lol i get the hubby thing. Mine thinks I worry about the chickens far more than him. Do you feel any lumps in his crop? Is he acting odd still or seeming perky and normal? Did you remove his food last night or did he have an opportunity to get some this morning?

They sleep with no food or water until the morning. These 2 little ones sleep in a crate in the garage as they are too small to be integrated with the older pullets. They have their own chunnel for the day, and right now the chunnel is on concrete so he does not have a chance to get his crop full of grass.

This morning His crop was not full, but it was not empty either. Maybe it is slow because he is not out of the woods. I suspect he had an impacted or slow crop for more than a week.

He was somewhat perky this morning. He drank and ate a little bit and then he put his head in his wing and took a snooze. He is up and around now and eating normally. He always acts like he is starving, lol. Maybe he was because of the impacted crop.
