I know but one of them got loose so I ended up hatching a bunch of these, luckily I have slow ducks down by the pond, so the aligator got them and I ended up with this, not sure if its a boy or girl, I havent been able to get close enough to check. but it love to eat those bunnychicks, dont know what I will do when they are all gone. the good thing is it protects all the ducks, guess its not sure which one is MOM????

This is our big boy. He was hatched by us Spring of 2007. He is a mix of a Plymoth Barred Rock and our dearly departed rooster (either a Ameraucana or Auraucana - sorry I don't know the difference between the two breeds). Fun fact - He has fought off both a coyote and a hawk attack - both of which I witnessed!

My first picture post, I hope it works!

All very cool. Here is my contribution...
1. They are Silkie X Comet crosses. I put their eggs in the incubator as a joke with my Cochin eggs, I never dreamed that their father(s) had succeeded with the Comet girls.

2. They are about a month old
3. The fun fact? I thought that the black skin was supposed to be dominant but as you can see, the darker bird got yellow skin. Both got 5 toes on each foot, but on close inspection of the darker one, she was trying to have 6 toes on each. The 5th toe looks as though it tried to split, and has an extra tiny nail on it.
