Cross breeding ducks

With all of those breeds in the mix it will take you YEARS to standardize the breedings (to get them to breed true...especially with the unknown colors that could be hiding in the pekin). If your goal is to eventually show, you're going to be in for a long wait. You will have to breed a LOT of ducks that should all breed true (look the same) and then you need to have enough people interested in them to keep a flock and show them also. If you are a beginner you may be better off getting some good show quality birds and improving on them, rather than trying to start a whole new breed. But...that's just my 2 cents worth...

I know. I have already got some Show quality mallards but I think my brothers pesky dog (the one who attacked one of my muscovies ages ago) broke the eggs :he. The duck only went broody today and the dog ruined everything, hopefully they lay more eggs as I don’t want to have another year ending up with nothing.

Anyways I know it’s possible as a fancier in my state bred the Camden White Toulouse geese and White Chinese geese which have an offical standard in the APS (Australian Poultry Standards). If I can’t it would be cool to just have something unique anyways.

I’ll keep trying to breed my Mallards. And breeding black muscovies.
