Sounds like you have a concept and a start on it. I've found the chicken world to be very descriptive in their titling of birds. I think it might be because there are so many different types of colors and feathering. Much more than in the dog world, smile. Probably in the beginning, best to be as descriptive as possible. Esp. since someone else may be working with the same cross and you want yours to stand apart from the crowd. Perhaps including both your new breed name and their heritage in your description of them. For instance, " American Curly, founded on an Ameraucana/Frizzle cross". That way people associate your new breed name with the foundation. Plus, if you are first out the gate with this terminology, it's good PR for your project.
As your project continues and becomes more generally well-known, in several years you can drop the Ameraucana/Frizzle part and test the waters to see if folk have mentally cemented the two descriptions of your project . If not, ( and folks keep asking you about the lineage behind your "breed name") just start using it again until they remember. Nothing wrong with using both descriptive terms to describe your project.
