Thanks for the get well wishes guys, I'm still sick as a parrot (where did that saying come from?). Karen - normally it's a sitting around in deaths waiting room but It was either they come to me or I'm carried there and make a mess on their floor! Really sorry about your dog btw, that's really sad. Take it you haven't found her?

Well Thanks! Wow, Bloody Old England! I'm so into the Tudors and anything Brit! I almost named my ducks home Duckingham Palace after one of the PM from my thread "Who names their Duck House!" I ended up naming it ChickiteWaddle Inn. When I started I did not know that drakes could not be housed w/ chickens as was my plan. So my son made me a SUPER duck house! Now the girls have the run of the place until he can make their avairy larger so the Pekin Ducks can be by themselves. BOYS

A big Hello to you too!
Well, we had to send Sofie to the Angels last night. She spend the day refusing food/water. By 6 pm her tongue was hanging out and I just couldn't wait it out any longer.

So now I have my Chic's that are 16-18 weeks but I still have room for more. Any hints on good layers? Other than RIR. I have 2 and I don't like their attitude. After a few yrs of having hens, I got them last summer, and this winter I had to put aprons on 3! I'm sure its because of them!

Click on my pekin ducks, my house is in there for the moment, till there done.

Oh cool! Adorable ducklings! ! And I like your run! I's sorry you had to put Sofie down, but I'm sure that was the right decision. Personally I like Cochins, they don't get good grades on laying, but I'm not sure why, my girls are kicking out more eggs than we can use! And we can use a lot of eggs! But that's just my favorite.

Ooh, yeah Belgian D'uccles are very beautiful, wish I had some of those!

Oh boy, this is going to require some major writing to answer that question! As far as farm animals goes I have a mixed flock of chickens, an assortment of banatms that I just love, you never know what the chicks will hatch to look like, a bunch of cochins, a few Easter Eggers, and one Silkie rooster. The bantams and the Cochins cross breed and make spectacularly colored chicks as well. I have ducks, I bought them as Indian Runners, but they look more like a Indian Runner? Swedish mix. Sweet ducks though and I love them. Very soon, I will hopefully be buying some Ancona Ducklings, they are critically endangered. And then we have rabbits, just your good ole domestic cottontail. Somehow we ended up getting blondes out of the browns and when we added a black doe that was bought for me, we started getting white! Strange isn't it! I would love to have goats, however I think it will be a looong time before I do.
And then as far as pets go we have three dogs, the family nanny dog, name d Joan, A ridgeback mix, my mom's dog named Betsie,a terrier mix, and then my dog named Buck, a Carolina Black dog, (whatever that is!) . All rescues, Joan we bought from a man that rescued her from an abusive house hold, Betsie is a puppy from a stray we took in for a while and Buck mom saved off the road as a tiny little puppy. And then we have our cat, named Katie and I have a guinea pig,named June.
Hobbies and fun, well I quite enjoy taking care of the animals, I apprentice at a goat farm, I just Love them, even got to help deliver babies! I like to read, cook, read, sometimes draw, be outside as much as possible, garden, be in the woods, read, learn languages, and bird watch.
I actually work, don't laugh, as the house keeper right now, I'm not positive as to what I'm going to school for yet but just graduated High school so HOORAY! but yeah, college is soon enough and housekeeping allows me to make money and got to school. And it's our house I'm keeping and really I did it anyway so the only real difference is now I get paid for it. So yeah, feeling like I missed something but I'll remember later. What about you?

Hi Everyone!
I've been out w/ Sofie and she's not eating nor drinking.  Some are saying to put her down.  I feel the eye that was there is now swollen so that's why shes not moving arnd.  What do you think?  
I wanted to order turkeys but hubby said no.  I can't push it, at times, ha ha.  Hes been working for my girls and now the ducks so the toms can come another day!  How are they to raise?  Do they take any special needs?  Hey Pollo, let me know how it goes!?
My favorite beach is in Old Orchard Beach Me. It's beach, parks, amusements everything right there.  Go up and your in the country!  I'm country, there are approx. 45 homes in our village.  Were not a town.  I would love the south except in the summer. ha ha it's way to hot for me.  We had frost 2 nights ago!

No I have been raising turkeys for over a year and short of larger housing as in Heavier duty roost and the like they are no more a problem than my chickens they range well and forage as good if not better than my chooks my wife just added two more toms and a hen to our flock of four so with three hens I see eggs to hatch very soon

. I have 24 brahma eggs in the incubator set for hatch next week and my silver lace wyandottes I brought from the states and hatched the 21st are starting to show their lacing can't wait to see them feathered out in the adult plumage they are the only SLW in costa rica and I'm sure once my flock is established they will make quite a scene here
