My daughter drives an older Mercedes SUV. We were in a major car accident, which is why I walk like a grandmother, and my husband came to the conclusion that no child of his was going to drive a small car. That's fine except he is driving what someone described as the truck you want to have when Armageddon comes and it gets horrible fuel economy. We are looking at a hybrid, either a Prius (it's hard to type that, honestly) or a Honda civic hybrid. We would love to have a Volkswagen diesel but they are extremely expensive. And yes, driving age is 16 and the car is an automatic though my dad taught my daughter how to drive a manual transmission the last time she visited and she already knew how anyway. My daughter has been driving things, the tractor, the ATV, a motorcycle, the boat, and the occasional car for many, many years now. It is not my daughter I worry about but other drivers. If they would all just get off the road and let her go by I would be content!
I planted potatoes today and cleaned out part of the goat barn. The weather actually chose to rain but it was not hard or cold. You all should have seen me running as I was drying clothes on the line outside. Our old dog, she didn't even wake up for the rain but lay sleeping in it. Her name is Zowie, from an old cartoon my daughter liked, and the dog is 17 while the daughter is 16! Of course the cat is old enough to vote, she is 18 and will be 19 at some point this year.
