The chickens in the last couple pictures are indeed hybrids, they are what we call Sizzles. A cross between a Silkie and a Frizzle.

And I just have to say it, I do believe that besides Karen (she is first) I am second most heat tolerant, my normal summers are much hotter than you are experiencing now!

Pecorino is still at his place on the nest, waiting for his girlfriend, I want to try to mate him with another girlfriend

the grey cockerel is also an hybrid, the color of the comb is too clear

Beth, I just watched Highclere Castle Oh God! How breath taking! To have all that at you doorsteps! If you would spread England across America most of us would NEVER have a chance to see it. We have So much here for us to see and we never will because of travel and expenses. I'm sure it cost a bit to get to see all of England but it's nothing in comparison to us. Your so very lucky to be able to take a weekend off and visit History! OMG OMG They mentioned Downtown Abbey is filmed there and based apart on it so I will be tuning into it now that I have Netflix!

I wish the ducks were girls at least I would have egg's. But it will be hard for me this winter to carry fresh water to drink,let alone swim! lol
And did I tell you guys that one of the peeps that I got last month is a SLW cockerel! So now I have 6 cockerels when I told my neighbor a few years ago that he would not have to worry cuz we were not into rooster's! And now 6 OMG Oh My God! Thank Heaven we only bought 1 and that's the glw that will honor our GLW.

Wow, that's to bad about your rooster, I hate it when that happens!! Honestly my ducks don't swim that much in the winter so you shouldn't have to worry about that to much.

today was crazily hot, 42°, it's still 36° now

I know there are a lot places hotter all over the world, but, I hate hot weather, I obviously prefer when it's 20° under zero, I'm a mountain's guy

Pecorino try to break up in another pen today and got his reward from the chief in charge, even if it's 12, still search for company

Yes, I can tell you are a mountain man! I prefer cooler and cold weather, I LOVE snow, but I was born and raised in the hot hot south!! (okay well, maybe I was not BORN in the south, but most of life I've been here)
