Cross Continental Friends!!!

Save some for me!!! You have to have a goat that's had a young for the milk so you need a billy and I correct?
I would love to own a few but I am getting older and I feel it's to much work for me now to start. If I thought of backyard farming years ago I would of had pigs and beef cattle also! But I'll almost be 60 in 2 months so I shall keep to chickens. I wish my son hadn't gotten me the Pekin ducks that turned out to be drakes cuz there a lot of work! If they would of been girls it would of paid themselves off. I am getting 2 hen from a girl way up north who will be losing some animals to the humaine soc. she wants to give me 2 muscovys chicks that I'm thinking about. Plus she has goats and sheep. And more ducks, you name it! People drop things off at her barn which is 1/2 mile from the house. Its on the other side of the pond. So she can't always catch them.
im sorry about your neighbor it sucks when people take advantage of you like that and expect you to take their animals. i think you should get sheep though they are so easy to take care of if you only have like two or three. they are better than dogs in my opinion.

where has beth gone?

Hey guys! Beth has gone to a place called Cornwall for the week, so she's on vacation, She must have been to busy to post it here, but she'll be back soon with pictures for us!

Yes you need a goat to have babies and yup includes a billy, I don't have any of my own, I stole the milk from my friend.

Haha, actually he is giving it to me in favor of taking care of the goats for them. I would love to have a goats, I really really would, I hope we do soon. I've thought of sheep, goats won with me, but what are the pros and con's sheep versus goat?

well i have never had a goat because idk if its true or not but ive read on the internet that goats dont really eat grass? and well i need the sheep so they could mow my lawn for me lol. i think goats have more personality than sheep but i think sheep are more gentle and calmer and easier to contain. idk in my opinion i just like sheep. id get a goat if they do eat grass, but i have no idea what they eat except hay and leaves and woody things...i think?

It's funny how everyone has their opinion on their animals! lol Right now I'm looking at getting a Plymouth Rock or a Barred and I've been reading these charts in our site and their opinion on my girls at xs are so wrong. Like one has them saying Ameraucana's as broody. Mine have never been. And so on. But I think I want the Plymouth. She has RIR & Buff orp. but I had the 1st and I have the 2nd. The RIR lay great eggs my girls were everyday. But my Ameraucana's lay bigger eggs but 4-5 a week. Does anyone know what the Plymouth's do?
The Amer. lay 2.1-2.3 oz eggs and the RIR 1.5 oz. The buff's 1.oz And my silkies are for DD cuz their just a yolk w/ some white's! lol and not much of that either! lol

ah this dog still wont stop showing up its so frustrating. i tried dried red hot pepper seeds mixed with crushed black pepper corn and crushed black pepper mixed together and mixed in some garlic salt and this dog still comes around.

Hmm, you could slip a little chocolate into his food? I'm kidding don't do that, that is frustrating, I had that problem with the neighbors cats, ...so I caught them all and turned them over to animal control where everyone of them was adopted to good homes. Good luck to you!

i talked to my dad and he said that if you spray amonia around the yard where the chickens and sheep cant get to it the dog wont want to come around because of the smell. and well if they still dont care after this last time we tell them to tie it up and if the amonia doesnt work well idk i honestly dont care anymore and ill just take things further and they really wont like it. i have tried to catch him but he ended up growling and showing his teeth at me so catching him really isnt an option.

and can goats eat grass as their main diet or no?

idk, but you could invite a bunch of the guys you bf works/hangs with and offer a lot of beer, campfire and a broken restrm! Politely offer them the woods! lol Try the powder's they can go up the snout better I think Is there no animal control over there? Well, I'm hunting high and low for a SLW hen and I can't find hide nor feather of one. How's the weather w/ everyone? It was getting cold but these past few days it's been in the high 80's! But rain today later. I hate the thought of winter, I'm to old for the cold! Have a good one everyone!

I don't think so as a main diet, they do prefer weeds and things like that, they do eat grass, but will try to get your trees and other things as well.

All out of rabbits! Major downsize on goats and sheep! All appropriate roosters sent to freezer camp! Have two kittens (shhhhh!!)! La Niña Linda has food poisoning!
And a guy paid ME for cleaning out my chicken coop!
