I have barred rock hens and light bramha hens with a light bramha roo I was wondering if I breed my roo with a barred rock what genetic would the chick get would it be feather legged or barred or both etc etc also what different genetics would a male vs female chick get also what if o crossed a barred rock roo with ao light bramha female thanks a lot!

Also this may be a dumb question but does it hurt for chickens to inbreed if my roo produces chicks can he breed those next year ?

Idk about the barred rock x brahma question, but it doesn't hurt to breed father to daughter or mother to son. It's not good to breed brother to sister though.

A non barred rooster over any barred hen produces sex linked chicks, meaning the males inherit barring from the mother and will have a head spot. You can sex those at hatch. Some will have feathered legs and some probably won't.

If you crossed a barred rooster over any hen, you'll get chicks that will have barring to some degree in both sexes. In other words, not sex linked.

You can breed brother to sister. It's not the best to do as it emphasizes whatever traits they both carry from their parents, whether bad or good. I've done it plenty with no ill effects, though it's usually half siblings.

Thank you that is very helpful does any body have any pics of such breeds? I'd really like to see what a barred bramha would look like

Ok if you get a sex link hen from a Brahma roo and a br hen what if I breed the sex link hen with the bramha roo what would it be would it still be sex linked?

Ok thank-you very much one more question if I breed a brown egg breed roo with a white egg breed hen or vice versa what color egg will I get?
