Where does the size of the chicks come from if crossing a large and small breed? Would size of the offspring be determined mostly by hen, rooster or middle ground from both?

Interesting, would it be any different if the smaller breed wasn't a dwarf? I'm not sure if a Phoenix has a dwarf gene or not. Those are the small chickens I'm wanting to play around with. I'll try "The Google" and see if I can find out.If crossing standard sized Rooster with bamtam hen the Cross Will be the average of both parent. When crossing a bamtam Rooster with a standard hen the Cross is expected to be on the small side if said bamtam has sex linked dwarf genetics
not at all, the egg will determine the chick size at hatch but not when grown.Does egg size have anything to do with mature size in these crosses??
I’ve got 5 bantam eggs and 5 “regular” eggs but the dominant rooster is apparently the little black bantam so I guess I don’t know what’ll happen, wait n seenot at all, the egg will determine the chick size at hatch but not when grown.
