Wyandottes: I have a silver-laced and a gold-laced pullet, plus a buff possible roo. If that roo were to cross with those two pullets when old enough, what would the offspring be like?

Thanks in advance for any help

I believe they will look like cinnamon queens (which really are different than red sexlinks). They use a New Hampshire red or RIR and wyandottes for cinn queens so perhaps they'd just be lighter? I think the boys should be white/light barred and the girls more solid and buff with white accents.

very interesting... course, I'd have to separate them from the rest of the flock so the other roo doesn't get involved, but it gives me an excuse to work on the second hen house

Sorry, but Cinnamon Queens ARE Red Sex-Links. And by crossing the Buff with the Laced Wyandottes will not produce a Sex linked cross as lacing is not a sex linked characteristic like barring.

The combinations used for the different kinds of Red Sex-links are RIRxWhite Rock(silver factor), RIRxDeleware, and RIRxRIW.

use the chicken calculator

Youre doing 2 crosses so youll likely get about 16 differnt things...

edited to add: If you are intersted in color genetics, especially of wyandottes, then check out Grant Beretons book, I think its call 21st century poultry breeding. You can find it at amazon but it will give you a good solid understanding of lots of the gentics of crossing colors.
