Hi, all!
Just thought I'd post a thread on this topic 'cause I haven't seen much response to it. Is there anyone out there who has a crossing project underway or is planning one? If so, what are your goals?
I'm not just talking about people who want to create the super-economical chicken, or the latest new breed, or the hottest new color. Though I would love to hear such stories and plans, I also want to recognize those who are trying to preserve rare breeds by "re-crossing" them to other breeds in that breed's history. Have these recrossings helped revive the type of your stock? Have they made more hardy offsprings? What are some flaws resulting from the recrossings that you are trying to work out?
Any other projects out there, I'd love to hear them! Even if they are about the super-economical chicken, or the latest new breed, or the hottest new color
God bless,
~Gresh~
