crossing the street law

OP never said she was between 2 cross walks. The said between the two lanes at the intersection.. Thats in the middle of the cross walk aint it?

I mean do you really think the OP was talking about somewhere that not only has a cross walk at the intersection but a second a few feet up the road but close enough to say you were between them but still at the intersection?

Sounds like reaching for excuses to not believe the kid to me.

I think it was just a question for clarification, not to accuse the OP of anything.

Why do you keep thinking people are accusing?

The first time some one asked thats for clarification. The op responded clearly saying they they were in the cross walk..

Then OP gets accused of changing there story because of responding to the question.

My point was simply that the OPs story was changing with various posts and I am still not clear on whether or not the OP was IN a crosswalk or BETWEEN 2 separate crosswalks.

Im just trying to point out that the story never changed. They responded to a question the question as soon as it was asked.

Well to be honest with you, since the question of the OPs wording came into play, all I have read is what others though the wording meant. The question for clarification was on page 6 and the OP has not commented since page 3.

So no, they never responded to that question.

Seems to me since the OP has not been on for awhile there is a bunch of speculation going on.

Lanes, not lines. Many schools have more than one crossing lane, where did you get the impression it was only a few feet up the road?

Sounds to me like you are assuming the "kid" is innocent without knowing the facts. I try not to make any assumptions until I know the facts.

"now I Wan To Know If I Can Get Her In Trouble" How would you feel on the other end of that situation, with so much information missing?

The question for clarification was post 3. The response was post 7.
i was walking in a school walkway and it was around 12:30-1:00pm my high school had a minimum day but the elementary school didnt. and she wasnt going fast im just mad because she drove right in front of me in a school walkway. i dont know her name. how can i get her in trouble for not following the law?

The word lane an the word line are used to mean the same thing sometimes with some kids that have not started driving yet. Heard it used that way several times.

Im just trusting there word cause I have no reason not to. Being young is not a reason. I use to mentor teens so I know that you cant trust all of them but I have also learned to trust them till they give me reason not to. Just like I do everyone else.

OP is probably at school so thats why they have not responded I would assume.

I really think whether in a crosswalk or not is a mute at this point. The fact that the OP wants to get someone in trouble for a human error, or the fact we have to be more observant of our surroundings is front and center.

And you are right, they are probably still in school.
Forgot it was a weekday!

Yea, I dont like the "get her in trouble" line ether...

I thought about it a while an if a cop almost hit me in a crosswalk an then came back an told me it was my fault for not looking I would be on the phone with our SO telling them about it.

Its what was said that would have me hot not the accident thought.

I hate to chime in when things here are already a little muddled... But along the lines of what Gritsar was (very appropiately!) saying.... Since when was yelling at someone ever the answer to a problem? Raising your voice to someone you have never met, even if they did make a mistake, really isen't going to do anything but get them upset. Then how likely are they going to be to see the situation from your perspective, or explain the local laws to you if you happened to be the one at fault? I consider myself anything but a sheep when it comes to dealing with problems or conflicts with people, but still I dont resort to yelling right off the bat, it portrays weakness, to my mind. Still I would never reprimand a cop, I have all too often needed their assistance with something and appreciated their patience for me when it comes to listening to my problem. When I am in the position to be upset at something a stranger has done... I try asking a calm question first... like "Was there a good reason you did such and such?"... and you will get a lot more attention to your problem this way too. Yell first and consider later.... is a bad habit to get into.
