On the weekend I was told a good way to get rid of crows!! rabbit trap on top of a post then put wire with loop out and sit the egg in it. the crow will land on top of the post and SMACK one less crow!!!works a treat

Although crows might be considered pests they still come under federal and state laws.

From my research it is legal to kill crows in Florida, not so in many other states so beware in places like New Mexico and on migration routes.

Crows are Federally protected.

States are allowed a certain number of days per year for hunting them.
Shooting them out of season is illegal in all states

TRAPPING them is illegal in all states, and putting a trap on top of a pole could be construed as a "hawk trap" which will bring you BIG trouble

If you have free range chickens, you'll have to learn to live with the crows.

The good news is if you scare them off enough, they will stop coming​

crows are really smart, they LEARN.

if you teach your local population that say, they will get shot with salt upon moving an egg in a trap, they will stop this behavior. it's been done on my farm with great success. happy trapping.

I thought you could shoot crows if they were a danger to your livestock? I love crows but I also love opossums, raccoons, foxes, porcupines, groundhogs... Still doesn't mean I want them in my coop!

Crows are federally protected, but in most states, it's very easy to get a permit to kill them if they're an agricultural pest. They're kinda low on the "protection pole".

I found that my Bourbon Red turkeys run off my crows. There was a serious drag down shoot out one day on the fence. My turkeys saw a crow stealing chicken eggs and gave it a good ole' fashion whooping that it (the crow) will NEVER forget. Since then, I have not had any more crow problems. My turkeys are on crow watch 24/7.
