Crowding Into Corner of Coop

These are my first chicks - I bought 10, they are 7 weeks old and I just moved them into the new coop. They have been in 3 days now. They are going in and out okay. But at night they come in and all crowd by the door, they push in between the 2 x 4's almost as if they are all trying to get out. I picked them up and put two at a time in a nest, but they just fly back to that corner. I know the coop is big enough for probably 30 more chickens or more, Is this normal that they are doing this? Should I be doing something else to make them comfortable. I put some posts for roosting low and high and they are not going near them. Thanks for any comments and help. Jodi

Yup, normal. At 7 weeks they are just babies. Without a mom to teach them, they may take quite a while to learn to use a roost. Be patient........Pop

Thanks for that info and reassurance. That is exactly what I was hoping I would hear, that they just need a little time or maybe a lot of time. Just a little nervous right now and watching every move.
