When do cockerals start to crow, and when do pullets start laying?

It depends a lot on breed and the individual chicken. We've had cockerals start to crow at 5 weeks, yet sometimes you won't hear a rooster crow if he's with a lot of other boys. As far as layers, we've had some start to lay around 17 weeks, but others won't lay until a few months after that.
