Crowing hen or roo?

I have a 22 week, unknown/likely mixed breed bird that has started to crow. The bird has hardly and comb and no apperent bumps where spurs would grow. Any thoughts on sex would be appreciated.

If you heard a crow, it's a cockerel.

I’ve heard if you have no rooster, occasionally the top hen will try to be one. But that looks like a hen.

I agree with Dobie, that is indeed a cockerel. Saddle feathers don't lie if they're coming in already and they are on this bird...

Hens can crow and even grow spurs! But rarely will you see that in a pullet.

You have a very slow maturing cockerel. You can indeed see his pointed saddle feathers. Couple that with the sickle feathers in his tail and the crowing... definitely male

Agreed, slow to mature cockerel. You can see the saddle feathers.

And while I agree that some top hens will crow, a pullet never will.

Upon occasion, and generally a senior hen not a pullet. I agree with all that the bird in question is a cockerel.
