I’ve raised 2 Buff Orpingtons, who live with my 3 hens. They’re 6 months old now.

One is definitely a rooster: big red comb and wattle, crowing, longer straighter tail feathers. The other looks like a hen, but I’ve witnessed her crowing. Not clucking or being proud of an egg: convincing crowing. No eggs that can be definitely attributed to “her” yet either...

Am I being senselessly optimistic or might she yet be s girl?

I will get a photo in the morning!

Optimism might be better described as desperation: I don’t think I want one rooster, let alone two! And the third chick I raised was also a boy, but ran off when the manly BO started to kick off...

Yeah, you've got a male... Are you allowed to keep roosters in your area? Because if so, roosters aren't such a bad thing. I would love to have one of I was allowed over here. But like you said, having two can be a bit of an issue...
