I need help.
Okay. I have a 2 year old salmon faverolle hen. She's definitely a girl she's laid many eggs.
Well about 3 months ago... She just stopped. Not another egg.
At first she was molting. Okay that's fine chicken.
Then it was HOT. Okay that's fine chicken.
But lately here it's not hot I see no reason this chicken isn't laying. I've been keeping an eye on her weight watching for signs of illness. Nada. She's a perfectly healthy non laying 2 year old hen.
Well this morning I hear my silkie rooster out there crowing his first crows. So Dammit I run out there as living in a city they have a no roosters allowed policy. I watch in shock and awe as
HALF THE CROWING IS THE DAMN SALMON FAVEROLLE HEN.
Has anyone had a crowing hen? Do they stop? Once they have decided upon rooster life do they ever go back?
I mean technically she's a proven hen but somehow I'm guessing animal control isn't going to be happy if she crows her head off every morning....... *photo of her infernal fluffy self*
