Not knowing your exact ordinance, it's hard to say. I'd call and ask. Even if it passes under the "no rooster" ordinance, it may not pass under a general "noise" ordinance.

2 year old salmon faverolle hen

Well about 3 months ago... She just stopped. Not another egg.

She's a perfectly healthy non laying 2 year old hen.

HALF THE CROWING IS THE DAMN SALMON FAVEROLLE HEN.

I am hoping that like some of you. Its a momentary thing and she stops? I mean I don't care if she lays she's a pet (in with 2 other silkie hens). But I can't be having noise complaints!

LOL I have a hen that crows every now and then...I would check your girl's crop to see that it's empty in the mornings. She's not laid eggs in a good while, feel for bloat/swelling or fluid in the abdomen.
Mine does have some reproductive issues, but sometimes lays an egg. Crop at times is a bit questionable, but I monitor it and address any problems. (crop problems and reproductive disorders seem to go together).
As for your girl...there's really no way to know if she will continue to crow or how often. Mine is fairly boisterous to begin with, she's head hen and yes when she takes a notion, she crows - doesn't matter if there's rooster(s) present or not.

I do see your concerns though since you live in a neighborhood that frowns on noisy chickens. I'm not sure what the solution would be for you.

I would tell your immediate neighbors that you have a hen crowing and that it will be temporary. I’m sure they’ll get a laugh out of it and not bother you with an ordinance. Of course some people are just mean Maybe it will give you some peace of mind? Also, ply them with free eggs as a pay off!

Most noise ordinances state certain hours that they are in effect, so a "yes, you can go cut down your tree with a chainsaw, but not at 3am please" type situation, in that case, most birds won't start getting active and making noise until it is light, if you can darken the coop somehow at night and don't let her out in the light until after the noise ordinance is done for the morning, they shouldn't be able to say much about the NOISE, now, then the issue becomes if they decide she's a rooster simply because she crows....

I also have a 2 year old Salmon Faverolles who crowed! She's only done it a couple times so maybe you'll get lucky and it'll be a one off! This one is neither the alpha or omega hen, there were no additions to the flock at the time, she was actively laying eggs etc...

My neighbor has a hen who will occasionally crow for a few days in a row, but then she will stop for months before she does it again. She's an older production red hen. Idk, I think it might be hormone related

okay. So over the weekend I put the rooster in the garage each night so if he crowed none of us (including my hen) could hear him. We had the windows open all weekend and I didn't hear her again... so I am really hoping it was just her telling him to shut his trap.... The rooster is being returned to the breeder Thursday.

Your best bet is likely to just get rid of the hen, as much as that sucks. I know it is tough, but the trouble you're going to have in the city *if* someone complains is going to be crazy. That said- the *if* part is a really big *IF*. The city doesn't have chicken police driving around listening for crows. They are only coming to you if someone complains... so you could just ride it out until someone complains.

I can only imagine though the difficulty of trying to explain to a non-chicken person that your crowing hen is really a hen and not a rooster. You're simply not going to win that fight. So you should mentally be prepared to re-home her either way.

PS- the easiest solution of course is to move to the country.
